If you are registered for VAT, you must submit regular VAT Returns to HMRC even if you have no VAT to pay or reclaim. You usually need to send a VAT Return to HMRC every quarter (every 3 months), but there are options for monthly and annual filing. You would have selected your preferred option during your VAT registeration.
